Actually, the most like answer is:

A pregnancy boom at a high school:
http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1815845,00.html

The one that's top of the bill on paid advertisements:

A morning after pill

the second:
Better chances to conceive (so, basically what I was talking about)

Eh, there was a time while waiting for our school bus, the kids found it amusing to play chicken. =/ they stopped when one kid got hit by the bus while they were playing it. It took someone actually getting freaking injured to make them stop, rather than common sense...

Yay for companies trying to cover themselves from any possible suing by some idiot.

In the same sorta train of thought...

On a packet of Sainsbury Peanuts "May contain nuts"

On a packet of Sleeping Tablets "May cause drowsiness"

On a packet of condoms "Please do not return used condoms to the manufacturers"

Also from the department of I Am Not Making This Up...

Apparently, in England, at least one brand of eggs puts on its packaging:
"May contain eggs."

Oh, and there are people who say you shouldn't buy large eggs because it hurts the chicken to lay them?

Um...large eggs come from larger chickens?  Morons...

But, yeah, I've seen some packaging here (US) for eggs that says "may contain eggs."  It's sorta like the McDonald's starting the whole thing with their coffee cups saying "contents may be hot."  (I understand that they did it just to keep from getting sued...but they shouldn't have to.)

7-11 was the one that started the "contents may be hot or cold" just to cover all their bases after they were sued for a slurpie being cold...

You know that whole global warming theory out there? If that theory is true then why is it SNOWING HERE!!! It just doesn't make much sense to me, if the globe is suppose to be warming up then shouldn't that mean that its hotter not colder?

Yeah, it snowed here yesterday.  I was completely confused, since by spring it's normally most people's summer (in temperature) around here.

Global warming, on the whole, is never really explained that well, the theory being that all people need to know is that carbon dioxide is bad, and that they should make every change possible by buying lots of overpriced...um, sorry, I mean by doing everything they can to reduce their carbon footprint.

Yes, global warming is a problem, but most people with the power to make a significant difference are far happier exploiting the idiocy of the masses than actually doing something about it...

So, yes, as for why it's snowing when the planet is supposed to be warming up, I don't know...nobody has really explained it all that well...

And another thing. They want you to use those florescent incondensante lights to save energy and everything, but two things. One LED lights are more energy sufficient. And two, they contain MERCURY!!! One of the most dangerous elements we have and there putting them in LIGHTBULBS!

That's because mercury IS energy efficient.  Just not very smart to have around kids when they break bulbs a LOT.

Because the Earth's weather system is quite large and complicated. Just because the general trend is one thing, it doesn't mean that it won't have unexpected or contradictory effects in a smaller area. I read somewhere that Global Warming could result in a 'short' Ice Age in Europe. Ask a weather person for more details.

Makes you wonder if anyone knows exactly what's going to happen other than "bad stuff" in general...

Because global warming is an outdated name for a phenomena that is serious, but it has caught on and no one is letting go of it.  It should be called Global Climate Change.  There are parts of the world that will get warmer and parts that will get colder.  Overall the trend seems to be getting warmer, especially around the poles.  But this affects the weather in many different ways.  For example I have heard there is eviedence to show that the gulf stream is shifting in a way to drastically change climate in many places.  For instance Ireland which is warmed by the gulf stream will become as cold as many other places that share its latitude.

The way I understand it is that studies on Global Warming are based on the mean temperature of the entire Earth.

I heard somewhere that 'Ice Age' is defined as a period of time when the Earth has polar ice caps. (The implication, of course, is that we're still in one.)

((Methinks we sould relocate this to the chattin' thread.))

A 23 year old boy killed 2 of 3 sisters less than 3 hours ago.

One, he just stabbed over 20 times.
He beheaded the 5 year old right in front of the cops.

Luckily, the cops killed him before he was able to reach the last one (which was wounded.)

Global Warming is indeed the correct term. I only know the geography for Britain, so can only relate to that.

Due to the warming up of the Earth, the ice caps are melting. Which is meaning a large fluctuation of fresh water, which has a different density to sea water. This is causing the Gulf Stream, the flow of water from the tropics and equatorial areas in Mexico that keeps us and much of Europe warm, to be diverted to go elsewhere... which means we get colder while the rest of the world gets warmer. This means we could get a climate much like Russia or Sweden or Norway.

Don't know the geography for other areas. But the world is too complicated to have just warming up everywhere. On average, we are getting warmer. But different countries will change to different temperatures. Be it colder or warmer.

Renom: We're due for another ice age, but we aren't in one at the moment.

*giggles madly* I love that.

Unfortunately, I'd have the same problem.  But I'm discalculate.  (I wouldn't understand how much it would cost in cents, not that I would think .0002 c is the same as .0002 $)
