OK, I've decided to commence with this campaign; It'll be semi-sandbox-style, and is set in the Purgai campaign setting I created.

The campaign is designed for three characters, and will start at level 1. Players are encouraged to create new characters for this campaign.

You will start out in a village in the kingdom of Ambilion, so, just take that into account when making your character's backstory.

I'm in. Just want to get that out there.

I'll definitely make a new character up for this. I'm thinking sorcerer, it's been a while since I've played a caster... probably human. I'll only be able to post once or twice a day, so if that's going to be a problem best to let me know now. I can have a sheet and backstory up later today.

No, it won't be an issue. Take your time with the sheet.

Alright, thanks. What books are you allowing? Considering it's level one, I doubt it will matter too much for me, but it'll be nice to know what is and isn't allowed.

*goes off to sleep, will read answer and make sheet once he wakes up*

Any supplements you see fit, so long as I can find the spell/class/race/etc. somewhere online. Races with 1 HD ONLY.

Ok, I lied. I'll read the answer before sleeping.

Chances are the only supplement I'll be using is the spell compendium, maybe a couple others if I find something nifty. At any rate, I'll be happy to copy to PM anything you can't find.

NOW I'll sleep.

Sign me up, I'm not sure what sort of character I'll do yet, maybe something more holy and martial.

Or maybe I'll stick with my squishy Diviner build! =P

This looks fun.  A few questions, though, since there doesn't seem to be a sticky for this sort of thing...

Spoiler:

1.  I assume that "sandbox" means that it's mostly free-roam, yes?  That sounds interesting.

2.  How do you handle rolls?  Online generator of some sort?  Do you do them?  Not that it matters, really.

3.  Point-buy stats?  Roll stats?

4.  What's the starting gold?

5.  Is it more role-playing or hack-and-slash, or a mix of the two?  Essentially, will max ranks in diplomacy, bluff, sense motive, and gather info. be wasted, and will an orc with a 6 in all mental stats and the social skills of a moldy piece of bread be useless or perfect?

6.  This might be overstepping it a bit, but will the campaign be more wilderness based or urban?  Or, as above, a mix?

This is all probably written down somewhere already, since no one else had to ask about the details of making a character, but I couldn't find it.  I'm considering either a gullible orc with a big, heavy, blunt instrument of doom, or a jumpy, sneaky goblin.  Either way, it's gonna be ugly  Razz .  At the moment I'm leaning towards the goblin, but we'll see how it goes, if I do go on through with this.

It's partially free roam; I said semi-sandbox.

YOU will be handling rolls online. =P I will be using my own personal set of dice...'cus I'm the DM. Mwahahaha.

Either one's fine, really.

Roll for starting gold.

Combo of both, to questions 5 and 6.

And Artemis, I wholeheartedly recommend you make something...not quite so squishy.

Count me in.  I call dibs on not-rogue, though.  Every character I've played has been one (dwarf rogue that couldn't roll above a 3 on stealth based checks, Raptoran rogue with minimal usage thusfar, elven scout that kicks serious ass).

Well, here we go, got a sheet. Backstory still to come. I've written up a bit about personality though. And for stats, I used point buy, assumed 32 points. It's easier that way. Gold I rolled 3d4=8, so that's 80.

Everyone, meet Gilbert Angron

Blackout, let me know if something doesn't match up with your world. I'll either provide my reasoning or fix it. If it still doesn't fit after reasoning is applied, I'll fix it.

I support point buy.  Thats's the best way to keep things even (read:  I've rolled stats on invisible castle roughly 6 times, with an aveage total bonus between +0 and +1).

I think I'll try a Spirit Shaman.

Ah, so we're competing for slots.  I think I'll go for a goblin rogue, then, since no one else jumped on it.  I'll probably shoot for a more skill focused character, since his sneak attack won't be impressive for a few levels.  If no one wants the position of the party face, I can easily split my skill ranks between sneaking/trap finding and social diplomacy, bluff, and sense motive.  That should make him versitile and fun to play.

I've never used the character sheet website that Destro used, but I might give it a shot, unless you don't mind me just posting all the info in a neat little spoiler box here.

I'd recommend using the sheet Destro's used. It's easier, that way.

And Bookboy, remember, nothing I can't find on the web. Clear?

Oh, and if it's relevant, I could easily adjust the campaign to fit 4 characters rather than 3, if neccessary, so no worries about lack of space.

Alavara, my paladin.

Starting gold roll, if you need it: 6d4=14 x10 =140

Don't worry blackout.  It's one of the Completes.  If you could track down Lurk, you'll find this.

Ooo, I think I'll throw my hat in to this one. It's been a while since I've done any play by post games and I need to do something with my time other than play Oblivion. =P

I'll most likely make a Cleric of some sort, as no party would be complete without one!

I think I'm gonna have to drop this one, unfortunately.  Have fun, everybody.

Well, here's good old Garmor Stoneshaper. Eventually decided on no deity and instead a cause. Hopefully, the cause is alright with Blackout.

Almost forgot, here's the roll I did for money

If it's of any relevance, ladies and gentlemen, gods are now up, so you may edit your sheets accordingly.

Done and done! Garmor is still a freelance architect, but now he follows Trastel by building for charity. Probably more than he should

Alrighty then. Swapped out the placeholder Deity on my sheet for one more appropriate to the setting.

OK, so, has everyone made their characters for the campaign, or are we still waiting on someone? *winkwinknudgenudge*
