the missing die (1d6=3)
well, in that case I scored an 8 instead for my perception roll.

still Lower then the average.

One could say that a 12 is here what a 10 is on a dnd skill check
5 would be a nat 1 in dnd for a commoner
20 would be a nat 20 in dnd for a commoner

Not that this really matters, but it might help setting a difficulty class.

background:Thorn was born in a town near the city-state of Chicago. When he was five years old, his father, trying to scrape together the money to buy dinner, sold him into slavery. Doing this, he earned a whole Orb. (Slaves aren't cheap after all.)

After being sold into slavery, he was sold to the Gladiator Pits of Chicago by the slavers his father sold him to. There, he learned to fight, and eventually became a lethal and dangerous pit fighter.

One day, he decided to see what it was like on the outside again, and broke into the armory of the Gladiator Pits, stealing an SMG, some ammo, and some body armor, then snuck his way out. Then, he went back to his father's home, killed him, and took what was left of his money, which wasn't much. Using some of this money, he purchased some Kits to help keep himself alive in the Wastelands.

After killing his father, he decided to leave Chicago, and make his living out in the wastelands as a mercenary.

Dustworld is officially re-entering the playtesting!

All of the Dustworld groups either never got off the ground, or went on hiatus, so we're re-starting a Dustworld game to get it up and running again. Mutations are done, by the way, so me and Bookboy will get on posting those, and we'll get on finishing that post that got cut off halfway through.

OK, everything relevant to Dustworld is officially up, so...

Yeah...

I will take over DMing for a fresh Dustworld campaign, and there is space for up to four characters, so, make some characters using the new rules, have fun, etc.

Yay! OK, so, get to making a character. We'll be using the standard method for character creation: Point-buy! Have fun with that.

Oh! Please don't wait for me, this will take some time since I have a load of work to do tonight. I'll try to have the character made sometime tomorrow or the next day... unless that's too late.

First time making a character using any rules, so I'll then need people to tell me what I did wrong so I can fix it...

Hey, anybody have a Dustworld character made that I could look at and see how it works?  I saw some from before the new changes were made.

I'll help ya.  I'm the co-creator, so I should be able to help.  Also, no rush.  I may take a good deal longer to make my own.  Just make sure you're happy with it.

Trust me, Art, it's gonna be worth a rewrite.I'm not using James.  Well, that'll be his name, but I'm considering changing to Yellow Zone so I can test the limits of my work.

So, one spot still open.

If it's of any relevance, ladies and gentlemen, I'll be bringing back an old favorite adventure from the Alpha testing. Heavily revamped, of course.

Truck Stop 78, anyone?

Alrighty then. Seeing as how you were kind enough to put all the stuff in one place AND that I managed to get myself off work fairly soon for a Sunday/Monday shift, I had some time to work this out. I haven't bought any equipment yet, Cause I don't know how much money I've got to do it with. Haven't bought mutations either, because I'm not clear on how the tiers/sets thing works. Blackout, if you could PM me and we'll figure it out?

Oh, and you may want to bold the headings or something in your thread. The wall of text is hard to find stuff in sometimes.

I'll help you with mutations.

Also, PD got changed to HP.  10 per point of Muscle.  So for you...130.

Oh, right, forgot to mention, 50 Coins for cash. By the 'new' money system, that's two and a half Slips.

Not much, no, but then again, not everybody can afford Runners or Rigs right off the bat, right?

Or guns, or ammo, or armour, or survival gear. Razz

With that, I got a sword, clothes and a basic first aid kit, with the amazing amount of 15 coins left over in case I need a clothing or sword replacement.

Somehow I get the feeling we're going to be cut to pieces by the first chump bandit with a pistol...

Hey, hey, hey, I'm using a homebrewed percentile system based on the d6 to produce random encounters if neccessary. You could run into a bandit, a scorpion, or a Loner. Who remembers the Loners? I remember the Loners.

Now, if Bookboy can wrap it up with the monster/generic NPC stats, I should be good to go.

Might want to have a look at all the prices. As it stands, a 'cheap, available' basic pistol costs more than a Runner. This is probably a remnant of the old currency system I heard mentioned.

OK, edited currency system. Instead of 20, everything is 50. HOPEFULLY, that'll work.

Looks good to me. Though if we still only start with 50 coins it means that the 'cheap, available' basic pistol that isn't powerful enough for wasteland survival is 45 times more expensive than the starting money.

Not complaining (much Razz ), this is a playtest and I'm doing my best to offer good feedback. I do like that vehicles are more expensive now. I'd bet there aren't many made anymore, so they should be hard to come by.
