The link below is the page for the Dustworld rule system, and all relevant equipment and other such things.

http://enupnion.myfastforum.org/ftopic996-0-asc-0.php

Please, ignore the first post, and continue down to the third one; That's the actual rule system. The first post is nothing more than the terrible, outdated alpha system I tested months ago. Be advised, the new version's combat system is slightly more iffy than the alpha version's but it is still undergoing finalization, which will be impacted by the playtesting.

Dustworld is a post-apocalyptic roleplaying game that is the culmination of two solid weeks of hard work, merged with alot of inspiration from various other post-apocalyptic RPGs(Fallout, Car Wars, Aftermath, etc.) and help from good friends here on Enupnion, and in my household.

Players will typically take the role of people called Freelancers, who are mercenaries that fight bandits, and other such denizens of the wastelands of post-World War III North America in exchange for payment from city-states, which are major cities that survived the war, and seized their surrounding towns and suburbs. Centralized government has officially collapsed, and it's every city for itself, except in the realm of trade, where giant trucks filled with goodies are sent between cities for money(which is measured in several different ways), and other goodies.

Dustworld basically centers around running around in radiation-filled deserts loaded with baddies...in cars, trucks, and motorcycles that are bristling with shiny guns, and armor. These vehicles are called Rigs, Big Rigs, and Runners, respectively. Tanks are available too, but those have yet to be implemented. Baby steps.

However, you should be careful, cus the baddies are packing the same toys.

Survival, and vehicular customization will also be a major theme, as will the customization of your character. You even get to mutate your character the way you want. Everyone knows mutations are awesome.

I want to organize three player groups, each with their own DM, and at least 3/at most 5 players in each one. These player groups will then play the game, give feedback to me and my development team, and help us work out the bugs in the system. DMs will need to be good storytellers, and all players and DMs will need to have a good understanding of the rule system, which is conviently located near the beginning of this opening post via link.

DMs will have full clearance to create their own adventure, and this adventure can be as complex or simple as they desire, so long as it sticks to(what little)canon I've established, and the rule system.

Any takers?

Relax, Bookboy, you're in, so long as you have a solid grip on the rules.

You're joking.  Not only am I one of the only people that played this before, I helped you design it.  In fact, Could I DM one of them and play in another?

I don't see why not. No honor guards filled with tanks, though. I know how you get with your tanks.

Bah. No armies, unless you're shooting them up, or you have them rules-legally. IE. you better have a friggin' high Charisma score. =P

After being pushed into it, I'll sign up. As long as I get a Knight. I have no justification for choosing that vehicle, I just want one.

I would like to give this a try. I will need to take a few looks over the rules again but it sounds fun. And I would likely try to DM it... So there is one of us..

Glee! DM!

You have full clearance to make your own adventure, based on the new fluff I've added. In fact, I encourage it.

Let's test two here as well, blackout.  We have enough people, and I'd rather DM on this board.  Crashes less frequently.

I said that I'm in, but bear in mind that this will be my first time actually participating in a rule-based RPG, so I might need a little help creating a character, and so on. But I should pick it up fairly quickly.

How much money are we starting with, and stuff?

I think that's for the DM to decide.

So I'll sit here and wait for the DM to reply... or to tell me that it hasn't been decided yet. Just like I was going to do anyway.

OK, well, all but one Playtester slot has been filled, so if anyone wants to get on Groups 1 or 2, their officially out of luck. Group 3 has a single slot left, though.

Whoa, slow down, there, Nightwing.

At the beginning of a Dustworld campaign, the GM decides how much starting money you get. With that starting money, you buy your starting equipment and vehicles.

Also, the skills aren't the skill categories. The skill categories each just fall under a certain attribute. Re-read the rules a little, and then try again. Nice first try, and I admire your enthusiasm, though.
