((and I have as well...))

So, which cities / countries have you been to ? Ive been to the USA, France, Germany, Belguim, Switzerland and Italy

I am not very well travelled.
Exachix

((I've been to Titan. I've been to Juno.
I can name 15 things that go in jars that you know.))

Sorry... bit of 'dwarfing override there..

I've been:
Around Alot of Wales.
Around England... alot.
France (Well.. paris).
Portugal (Well... Algarve)

and that's it! Mostly England.
Alarra

Countries?

Let's see....
US, Canada, Mexico, England, Ireland, Finland, Switzerland, Spain, France, Italy, Netherlands, Germany, Belize, Jamaica, Caymen Islands, Bahamas,

And I've been to 41 states.
Magtok

I've been pretty much in one spot my whole life. I think the farthest from NJ I've ever been was during a vacation to the Poconos in Pennsylvania, and that wasn't really that far from here. Sad
wxdruid

I've been through lots of states

stationed in KS, NE, MS, SC, South Korea (not a state), KS, IL

deployed to Qatar, Iraq

Driven through UT, CO, KS, TN, KY, IL, MO, VA, MD, NC, SC, GA, FL, AL, MS, LA, AR, TX, OK, IA, WY

Caught planes in CA, WA and stops overseas-Germany and Cypress, Japan

And TDY to NV (Las Vegas)

Oh and I can't forget my favorite state, I grew up in Colorado.
Deadly

Let's see how well I remember... I've been to :

Sweden (Many times), Norway (Many Times), Germany (Many Times), Austria (A few times), Switzerland (A few times), Italy (Once), Greece (Once)

I actually think that's it. I'd love to travel some more, especially outside Europe, but can't afford it currently.
Kantur

I've been around most of Scotland, a good deal of England as well, Spain, France, the USA, Poland and India.
Gnrlshrimp

I've been all over England, from as far North as Yorkshire, to as far South as Sittingbourne...which is about an hour's drive south of London, and everywhere in between. I once had a car journey all the way from Sittingbourne to Yorkshire in one day, nightmare.

A fair amount of Wales as well, since my family has a static caravan over there.

Outside of the Uk: North coast of France, North coast of Spain, Canary Islands, Lapland and that's it. I don't get around much outside of the UK.
Orange Zergling

About 13 states (I think), Canada, Mexico (twice), Italy, Germany, Iceland, and England... all I can remember ATM.
Darkblade

I've been to the US (Michigan) but the farthest I've been from home was still in Canada (British Cloumbia and Quebec), I haven't left Ontario much but I have seen nearly every city/town/village/Hamlet in this province.
NecroPaladin

Live in California and have been to numerous other states, have also visited Canada, Mexico, France, England, and I will go to Switzerland this summer.
Shadow of the Sun

Never been outside o' Australia.

Furthest I've been from my home town is Sydney.

I played the tuba on the stage of the Sydney Opera House. It was trippy.
Geomancer

Sigh... I live in the USA and have never left.
Vael

I've only been out of the US once, but I've done some traveling within it.
I've been to Tennessee (the aquarium was good), North Carolina (I did some interesting fossil hunting there. It was quite fun), Alaska (some hiking that was good), New York (Broadway!), Florida (A number of beaches there), and the Bahamas on a cruise.
The Chilli God

I have never been out of New Zealand.

I have done a fair bit of travelling within the country, but never outside it.
Destro Yersul

Canada: Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary
USA: California (Don't know specific cities)
Germany
England

I don't travel much. My stomach thanks me for that.
Baeleck

Most places in England.
Plenty of Wales.
Southern Ireland.
10mins in Scotland.

Other than that, nowhere. Never been abroad (unless you count Ireland as abroad). Never flown and only been on a ferry twice.
The Herald

To people who've been the the US, which part? There's rather a lot of it.

I've been to Mexico (once, for a few hours), but I've been through most states.
Timberwolf

Washington New York and Philadelphia's where I've been.

I flicked the Liberty Bell. If it's half as delicate as they say, that was a very stupid idea.
Damon

USA, farthest north was Canada. As in Niagra falls, so not REALLY in Canada. More the US owned part of Canada. Farthest south was DC by train, Florida when I was like...two.

Why has everyone been to Wales and Ireland? Those are the two places I HAVE to go to. I've got like, second or third cousins over there.

I live approximately 15 miles from Wales. I can assure you that there is absolutely nothing there aside from some obnoxious locals, some fairly nice scenery, some closed down coal mines and a whole load of sheep.
Warpfire

England, Ireland, California, D.C., and a number of other states. I live in Texas.

Always wanted to see more of Europe...
Wukei

Texas, New Mexico, Arkansas (just driving through), and Tennessee. I am not a traveller. I like things that are familiar. The only reason I travelled out of TX at all:

My aunt lived in NM.
My ex-boyfriend lived in TN.
Gnrlshrimp

Fairly nice scenery? Fairly nice scenery? That's all? Wales has some amazing scenery and views, particularly from the mountains in the North of Wales. On a good day the views from the top of Snowdon are some of the best in the whole of the Uk. Trust me, I know, My parents and I have hiked up it at least five times...

I have trees. Lots and lots of trees.

Trees! You don't know trees! The county I live in is made of granite and trees.

Especially the part of it I live in. We have trees. And mountains. And trees. And water. And trees. Also a bunch of islands, all of which are covered in trees.
Orange Zergling

I think you forgot to mention the trees, Destro.
Destro Yersul

By gosh, you're right! Razz

We also have trees. Very Happy
Castaras

England!

And thats it.

Oh, wait. I went to France on a school trip.

Yeah. How interesting.
El Jaspero

Hmm, lemme see:

USA, Canada, Germany (both West and East for you old-timers), France, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Poland, Austria, Belarus, Ukraine, Italy, England, Iceland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway. I've never been to Ireland, but very much intend to someday.

I've been to lots of states; certainly all of them above the Mason-Dixon line and west of the Mississippi, including Hawaii. I've never been to Florida, and hope to keep things that way.
Alarra

But....but....DISNEYWORLD!!!
El Jaspero

Alarra wrote:

Uhm...you're not sweetening the deal, here. In fact you're making me even more sure of my decision.
Alarra

*mutters* but it's such a fun place...
*shrugs* not that it matters to me really if you ever go to Florida.
El Jaspero

Alarra wrote:

I think the only reasons I'd go to Florida would be:

1) To visit my aunt,
2) tor work, or
3) to visit a friend.

Otherwise, it pretty much looks to me like a hell-hole. With hurricanes.
Uberblah

I've been to Australia (Sydney, Caines), New Zealand (Aukland, Rotorua(sp?)), Canada (Sault Sainte Marie), and I live in the USA (I've been too many places here to count).

I need to get out more.
J. Muller

I've been to... a fair portion of the US states, though by no means all of them. I went to Canada once for a few hours while I was staying in Niagra Falls. I've also been to the Netherlands a few times, though not really the Netherlands proper so much as it's a small island in the Caribbean that's part of the Netherlands Antilles.

After the summer's over, though, I'll have been to Spain, France, and the UK.
Flabbicus

*Resurrect*

Lesse....

Australia, Canada, Costa Rica, Ecuador, England, France, Galapagos Islands, Germany, Greece, Israel, Mexico, Sweden, Vatican City, Zimbabwe.

And in the grand ole' US of A I've been to the following:

Alaska, Arizona, California (live there for a year), Colarado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, North Carolina, New Jersey (duh), New York, Mexico, South Carolina, and Washington D.C.

Strangely though, I hate riding on planes. Freaking quarantines on wings if you ask me.

I have now also been to Belgium. Amazing chocolate there. Smile
Draken Frosthand

Paris, London, Bruxelas, Bruges, Los Angeles.

That's it for outside Brazil.

Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Maceió, and a dozen other coastal cities here in good old Brazil.

I think Maceió is a nice place to visit if any of you ever decide to come to Brazil, beautiful beaches, reefs, etc.
Obsidian Blade

Hmmm...

I've lived in America (Pennsylvania), New Zealand, and right now I'm in Dubai.

Apart from those countries, I've been to Australia, most of the US, Mexico, China, England, Wales, France, Germany, the Czech Republic, Greece, Turkey, Austria, Belgium, Oman, and the Cook Islands.
In 2008 I'm also going to Thailand, Japan, back to the US, and maybe to Saudi Arabia as well.

My family likes to travel. A lot.
Kyrian

I've been to...

California, Florida, New York, Maine, South Carolina (That's the one with Myrtle Beach, right?), um, whichever Dakota has Mt. Rushmore, Idaho, Michigan, Washington D.C., Missouri.

I don't think I've ever been out of the U.S. I may have been to Canada once, I swear I have, but I don't really remember it.
Uberblah

Kyrian wrote:

Now that's offensive. Razz My name's Dakota.

But I've been to...

Nevada, LA, Michigan, Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Indiana, South Dakota (which has Mt. Rushmore), Florida, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. And I live in Illinois.
Flabbicus

Fanning? Razz
Uberblah

Gods I hate that joke. Mad
Flabbicus

Well, you can make fun of my last name if you like. If anyone ever guesses it that is.
Kyrian

Flabbicus?
Flabbicus

Funny.

No.
Uberblah

Ha! White doesn't work on this forum!

Flabbicus wrote:

Hinkle?
Uberblah

Dick? (Yes I do mean that as a last name)
Flabbicus

No and no.

Though the last is funny considering my first... name.
Uberblah

Now we're going to have to guess that too?
Flabbicus

Sure.

It's been over a year since I did this in Random Banter, and why shouldn't I want you all showing up at my doorstep?
Uberblah

I'll be the first one! Razz
Flabbicus

I'll get the bug repellent.
Uberblah

Oh no! Not that! Anything but that!
wxdruid

and this thread goes back on track.....places you've been, not last names.
Lykan

Places I've been:

- Poland:
All over the place, mostly south/central, though. I used to live in Krakow.

- Scotland and Britain:
Went there when I was reaaaaallly little. Don't remember much

- Connecticut:
I live there now.

- Seattle, Washington:
Went hiking on a mountain there. It has really nice weather...

- Phoenix, Arizona:
Went to the grand canyon from there, went hiking a lot. I was there in July, and the temperature broke 130 degrees. At night it rained and there was red lightning, and in the morning there was smoking glass craters. =D

- Key West, Florida:
I go there every year during February vacation. It's where I first signed up for GITP.

- Portland, Maine: Godfather/Uncle and his family live there... We visit occasionally.

It's fun, but it gets weird during Mardi Gras.
Flabbicus

Oh yeah, I'm going to Puerto Rico for Christmas Break, and traveling over to Thailand over the summer.
Obsidian Blade

Okay, I got back from Egypt this morning. That means I've been to... nineteen countries, and I never want to step on a plane again.

Anyways. Debunny wanted pics, so pics he shall get.

*bows to the Crazed Cloner*
These may be page-stretchers. Also, I apologize for my kind of... creepy grins. They naturally come when I take photos.

Spoiler:

My family (excluding my dad, who was off getting mobbed by carpet salesmen) in front of the Giza pyramids. They were probably the coolest thing on the trip, with the exception of the Library of Alexandria, and we forgot the camera on that day. Going inside was... intense. You have to squeeze through this unbelievably tight tunnel and then you get spat out into a small chamber with a tomb and a bunch of other people standing around gawping at each other. Being claustrophobic didn't really help, but... it was still interesting. And probably the cleanest experience I had in Cairo.
I'm on the far right.

Spoiler:

The Sphinx, which is actually disappointingly small when you get close to it.

Spoiler:

Outside the Citadel in Alexandria. Again, I'm on the far right. This was the original site of the Alexandrian Lighthouse - one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World... before it crumbled into nothing. They had the most fantastic catacombs nearby, though.

Spoiler:

The biggest Giza pyramid. Khufu's pyramid or something - I can't remember. Apparently the entire Vatican could fit inside it.

And... photobucket has apparently kicked the bucket on me, so that's all.
DeBunny

The Crazed Cloner is most pleased.
You shall be spared the devouring.
^_^
blackout

I've been to Alaska(born there), California(lived there after parents divorced), Louisiana(lived there after moving with stepdad), Texas(lived there in homeless shelter after Katrina for awhile), Pensylvania(lived with aunt and grandparents), Louisiana again(lived with mom and actual dad after divorce between stepdad and mom), then Michigan(here now).

Yeah. Lots of moving, no actual 'fun' travel. Oh, well.
Artemis

First off: I am extremely jealous of Obsidian Blade, but with that said I have been to A ton of places in Florida (born and mostly raised here) including Jacksonville, Key West, Orlando, Tampa Bay, and my little town of Sebastian. I've got family in Massachusetts, so I've been through every state between here and there (but that doesn't really count does it?) We stopped in Williamsburg, though, very cool, roller coasters and history! in Mass. I've been to Plymouth, Boston (lovely city), Cape Cod, and a little place called Minot. A few places in California, but it was too long ago for me to remember specifics, and most recently Washington D.C., my nation's capital. I hope to get to Europe sometime soon, in a few years at least. Any suggestions for destinations?
Obsidian Blade

Artemis wrote:

It depends on what you want to do.
Germany and Austriawere extremely beautiful and in my opinion had the kindest people. They have many beautiful old Gothic and Romanesque churches and were my favourite countries. German is also fairly easy to understand so it's a little easier to get around than in, say... the Czech Republic. If you do go to them, definitely go to the mountains.
France is also gorgeous, but you're less likely to bump into people who are willing to help you. The food is much better than Germany's, though. And even though they sound boring, the art museums are actually really cool.
If you're interested in chocolate, go to Belgium. They have the best candy stores there, with some semi-interesting churches and battlefields lying around, though they're not really of significance to anyone other than the ANZAC troops.
I don't really know about England, because I only spent three days in London and during most of that I was violently sick. I assume there are other people who will vouch for it.
I was really lucky in the Czech Republic because I was traveling with my choir and we were billeted with some people who could speak a little bit of English, while most of the population speak Czech, Russian, or French. It has an interesting history, but I think that the only place really worth going is Prague, which is intense but amazing. They also have a neat medieval torture museum there, which the choir director wouldn't let us go too Sad.
And... I think those are the only countries in Europe that I've been to.

Anyways, that's my two cents.
Castaras

*vouches for England*

And come to Cambridgeshire! Flat lands here! And rain! <.< >.>
Exachix

Up here we're flat too!

Just... a different perception of flat.
