S.A.S. Campaign Endgame

OK, to those of you unfamiliar with this particular campaign, I've been running it over MSN with Artemis, Destro, Vespe, Moon_Called, and Inigo Montoya for a while. This is supposed to be the endgame. This thread is being made because we want to play sometime tonight, and MC is unavailable over MSN.

Let the game begin.
Monkey Muse

Sam looks at Price.

What's our mission sir?
Artemis

((I'm here, so where did we leave off, O great and glorious GM?))
Moon_Called

((You guys rock. Also, I found a lappy I think looks nice, so this shouldn't be a problem for much longer.))
Destro Yersul

((I'm here. Yay me. Also, Yay MC getting a laptop soon!))
Vespe

((Red five, standin - what do you mean I already did that joke? Oh well. I'm here. *waves*))
blackout

The briefing for the last phase of the war.

Price has gathered the team together, and has SatCam and several tactical maps overlayed together on the main screen in the briefing tent. "Your first job this fine day will be the destruction of a few artillery batteries and anti-air guns on the far eastern end of the base." The Consortium Prime base has been marked on the SatCam map as a many-miles-wide region, and a very small section of the map has been lit red - The area that Bravo Team will be infiltrating.

"The highlighted area has all of the targets you'll need to deal with. Afterwards, report for pick-up. Hammer will be able to fly in and get you out of there when you take out the anti-air batteries. You'll be on your own for most of the operation. Radio traffic's too heavy with the main force getting into position."
Monkey Muse

What explosives will we be using sir?
Destro Yersul

Get in, cause havoc, get out. I like this plan. Gaz looks at the little red section. Where's our insertion point?
blackout

"I'd recommend extensive use of C4, as is standard for demolition. Look for ammo bays or something similar on the Consortium howitzers to cause maximum damage, confusion, and shock value. Your insertion point will be here." Price points out a small area on the very edge of the highlighted section of the base. "You'll be brought in by Wraith."
Monkey Muse

Got my work cut out for me then.

Sam sits back in his chair.
Artemis

The team's sniper, Soap (Please don't ask how he got that nickname), was standing to one side, focused on the images projected on the screen, trying to commit them to memory. He trusted that Sam would know how best to destroy the anti-air guns. Soap's job was to deal with the people. Enemy combatants, he reminded himself, terrorists, traitors to the entire world.

So that's where we're coming in from. The sniper made mental notes of possible firing lines, where Consortium troops might be hiding, where he could go to stalk them. As usual during such briefings, he remained quiet, although he did seem a touch more nervous than normal. Of course, the entire team probably felt the same way. Well, except maybe Gaz.
Destro Yersul

Alright. Sounds good to me. Gaz was a hard man to make nervous. If he was wary about something, you knew it was trouble. Fortunately that's a good trait for the man who's supposed to hold the team together. Is there anything specific we need to know about that may effect our mission?
Moon_Called

Beckett watches Price with a grim expression, mouth set into a thin, almost white, line. Just wait, Vanny. Soon this will all be over, and we can go home. Just wait...

"What kind of defenses? Anything we should be wahied about?  He asks, just knowing that Price was going to think he was an idiot for asking.
blackout

"Nothing specific. Most of the remaining Consortium and Way of Peace units are trying to get into the bunkers and tunnels beneath the base before our main force hits them. Expect guards and heavy infantry guarding the batteries, though. They're bound to be the last to fall back into the tunnels."

Price shuts off the screen, and nods. "Hammer's sent the word in that his Wraith's ready to deploy. You've got ten minutes to prep yourselves, and then you're heading out."
Monkey Muse

Sam stands up, and goes to empty his bladder.
Moon_Called

"Yessah," Beckett's chair scrapes a protest as the coreman stands up, looking at the screen one last time, and heading of to get geared up. As he walks, he digs through the small pharmacy of a medkit he carries with him, doing a mental inventory of everything inside it.
Destro Yersul

Right then. I'll be waiting in the wraith if anyone needs me. Gaz turns around and makes for Hammer's ship. He's pretty much always prepared to go fight.
Artemis

"Understood, Commander." Soap responds, before following the others out. He doesn't walk towards the Wraith yet, though, wanting to stay under the open sky.
Monkey Muse

Sam heads for the wraith, nodding to Gaz.
blackout

Hammer begins to warm up the Wraith engines. "Well, this is it, eh?"
Monkey Muse

I hope so Hammer...
Destro Yersul

Yep. This is it. When we're done, there shouldn't be any more of these idiots left to fight. Gaz is kind of disappointed by that, actually.
Moon_Called

Gaz may be, but Beckett certanly isn't. He pulls himself into the wraith, and drops into his seat with a soft /thud/. Something occurs to him, and he looks up at the ceiling. "Y'know, there's probably going to be a lot of cleaning up to do, after this." Becket says, shrugging into his seatbelt. "Been a while since I've done any handymaning."
Yes. That is /so/ a word.
Monkey Muse

I wonder how may cells there are in the world?
Artemis

Soap slowly wanders towards the Wraith and ends up leaning on the frame of the rear hatch.
Vespe

Hoyt gets into the Wraith, taking care not to damage his flamethrower. He sits down by Beckett. I used to do some handymaning, sir. Back in the day. Well...not really handymaning. I handed handy things to the handyman. But it paid well. Sort of. He said it was an internship. I never got that college credit.
Artemis

"You were in college, Hoyt?" The sniper asks, a little surprised.
Moon_Called

"No?" Made sense, Beckett guessed. Hoyt was about the age were he'd have been recruited right out of school. ((Or so I assume.)) The coreman knew how /that/ worked - Mr. Beckett had seen to /that/. "Well, I'll tell you what: if yah evah in Boston, I'll give you a lesson ah two." The red haired man grins.
Monkey Muse

I think we are ready to go Hammer.
blackout

Hammer lifts off, and seals the Wraith's troop bay. "Alright. Command, this is Hammer Two-Four, deploying Bravo Team into operation zone."

Within a few moments, the Wraith has landed and opened it's troop bay, cloaked and on the edge of the Consortium perimeter. "Get in there and do your job, guys. Drinks are on me when you get back."
Monkey Muse

I'll hold you to that Hammer.

Sam gets out, assault rifle held at the ready.
Destro Yersul

Thanks, Hammer. I'll make sure I get back in one piece so I can collect. Gaz grins and jumps out of the troop bay, taking a look around.
Artemis

"I really wish you wouldn't say things like that, Gaz." Soap mutters, jumping out after him and scanning the area.
Moon_Called

His rifle in hand and ready for any less-than-plesent surprises that might be waiting for him outside the door of Hammer's wraith, Beckett hops down and ends this run-on sentance. He scans the area around him for anything of-interest, green eyes alert.
Well then.
Here we go.
Moon_Called

((Um... Hello? =\))
