NecroPaladin's Artwork

Seperating this from the little thread for Nevrmore because if it's a commission, I want the attention of that person. This thread will be a big pile-up of all my Town art, including the old stuff, and the new will be added eventually. I'm liking this better than one big Town Art thread because this way I know if people post they're discussing my work, particularly. It's easier to get my attention that way (as exemplified prior).

((I will put comments of my own under all of these, eventually))

CATEGORIES:

VERY FIRST PIECE (only one drawing):
Spoiler:

Hahahahah....Why did I draw Aesa as a demon?

AVATAR/PORTRAITS:
Spoiler:

I've improved...

MALLEO AND MORBIUS
Spoiler:

I've never drawn the Jury before. I think I got the basic feel right. Oh, and I love that rack of jars in the back designed to look like teeth on a silly picture of Malleo.

I tried to do the two things in the scene request thread, and they came out crappy. So, instead, here's a testament to Morbius' general loss of sanity when flying. The town is...thataway.

I forgot to color in Morbius' nose.

As promised in Wukei's art page, my interpretation. Phoenix looks a bit more startled here...

Phoenix. Since she and Morbius are rather intertwined at the moment, she's going under the 'Morbius' file, kinda like how "Green Chapel" encompasses Revenant, Iris, the Priests, The Angel, Azeneth, Alastor, Namesake, and a good amount of KNAVES.

She's all chipper, even if I did make her arms a little long.

DECKARD AND DEXTER
Spoiler:

Dexter and projectile vomit horseradish. Cute, isn't he?

KNAVES
Spoiler:

This one's just a sketch. It's State showing Darkblade that he disagrees with him in typical gentlemanly manner. Very civil, he is.

THE GREEN CHAPEL STORYLINE
Spoiler:

The original Revenant. Never thought he'd ever even bother talking to humans, much less fall in love with them. But then I realized that I had too many evil characters, and that I was giving myself too much power within KNAVES, and I turned a 360 with him. Kinda. I still didn't plan any of the below.

WOW I MESSED UP IRIS' FACE ON THIS ONE. Like...wow. It was the first time I was drawing her, and I'll admit it, I hadn't even BOTHERED to look at the character profile. So her hair came out wavy, not curly. And there's also that I'm used to doing cartoonishly large mouths and strange jawlines on men...and I normally do women more realistically, but she's masculine enough I thought, "what the hey..."

And it sucked.

At least Ms E thought Revenant was cute, though. He has glass eyes in this pic.

This was to make up for my utter failure at drawing Iris. I never finished, but her features came out a lot better. I was still drawing her way too skinny, though...I'm pretty sure she's supposed to have more of the voluptuous body type.

I like this one, more or less. Just a good idea of what he looks like. He's creepy, but there's also the clear idea in this sketch that he's trying to be human.

One of my favorites. I didn't bother with perspective, but who cares? I had an artgasm when this turned out halfway decent.

This was originally a commission, but Alastor's too involved in the storyline to put him in the "unrelated" file. Even though it's just ink, I'm proud of the meager shading I put in on his face. That and both of his hands, the one with the lance and not.

Just too cute a scene to pass up. Poor Revenant. I was still drawing Iris too slim, though.

I really, REALLY wish I'd finished this. It woulda been AWESOME.

Cute, but innacurate. Iris' family is metaphorical.

This was the perfect pic for a suspenseful scene. Very dynamic. And very cruel in his obvious intentions.

This was my first piece of new art in the new town. I really like this one for some reason. I finally got Iris right in every way, at least to me. That is, she's not too skinny and her face looks fine, if still with a bit of that cartoonish flare I like. And, on a seperate note, I really like the looks of horror from the two guys.

I'm getting better at coloring and shading. Take a gander at that umbrella. Niiiiiiiiiiice. I also like the little bit of blue in Iris' hair. It helps.

Well, it's not quite what SotS wanted with the two brothers, because I brought in Iris and good 'ol dad, Namesake. I haven't shaded it yet.

Alright, before anyone asks where I've been, today I got contacts, caught up on lost work, had my yearly checkup, picked up dental info, and underwent surgery.

Yeah, fun.

Okay, that said, in this sketch I did my interpretation of the new Iris costume, and of the umbrella in its more bestial form. Hooray, bodysuits. And hooray, leather straps.

A rather early study of Revenant's armor that I forgot to scan in. The color is quite basic-Again, this is just a study of what I wanted him to look like. The armor in this picture is more erratic than what I have in the other one, and I'm not sure if I actually want to use this design more.

My scanner messed up a bit on this one. New Namesake, looking pissed. Or, in other terms, normal for him.

I've never drawn Revenant without a shirt...Damn, he's a hunk. He totally counters Iris, who is looking rather the worse for wear here. I mean...DAMN! I don't know what went wrong when I was drawing him...

A request of Rebonack's. The sudden meeting between Revenant and Iris and counterparts Tabitha and Maph'tey, and neither party recognized each other until introduced. Maph'tey is busy hastily trying to explain how he's not really a dad.

I didn't bother at ALL with perspective...sigh.

Iris in a slightly different style that I'm toying with. She's a lot of fun to draw.

CHARACTERS NOT RELATED TO MY STORYLINES:
Spoiler:

I don't know why...But I really like this one. I kinda messed up her lips, but I suck at lips. And she came out cute anyway. Turn her sword upside down and there's a smiley face in it.

Crucius...again. I really love drawing him.

OTHER:
Spoiler:

The lake. That's...that's it.

My characters in the select screen of a retro video game. When all is said and done, I'll use this for my character page.

Chuck's diary. No more, no less.

They're so mismatched...I figure that whenever I get any of my characters romantically involved, it's bound to be an 'odd couple' scenario. On a seperate note, this was mostly just an exercise in color.
Shadow of the Sun

Now, this is just something I think would be cool, but you should do a scene of the brothers fighting side by side. That would be very cool.
NecroPaladin

That would be sweet...I'll get to work on it soon.

On a seperate note, the avatars (second box) line up to form a perfect rectangle. Look how much I've improved, start to finish...
J. Muller

Wow, you've actually improved startlingly fast with the artwork. The avatars look especially nice.
Shadow of the Sun

As the brother of a previous art student, I can say you are very good.

O'course, my sister is more into sculpture and such, but the point remains!
NecroPaladin

I've decided how I'm going to work this. As I update, I'll post down here, and as well my newest work will always be on the bottom of the first post.

That said, I colored.

Uberblah

As always, amazing work Necro. Vast improvements from when I first saw your work.
NecroPaladin

Updated.

Geomancer

Namesake, Alastor, Iris and Revenant?
NecroPaladin

Yup. The whole twisted little family.
Shadow of the Sun

Hehehe...the funny thing is, Namesake doesn't even know Alastor even exists.

Good work, by the way. *thumbs up*
NecroPaladin

That's true. He was also joking about Iris and Revenant falling for each other when he first said it (he saw that kiss as more of a gratitude thing). So although I might have him take his home in The Conservatory, when he visits The Green Chapel to find his son he's in for a surprise (maybe I'll have him use each of those buildings as "home" half the time).

Consider,

"Alright. I have TWO sons, despite being celibate, and the one I KNEW ABOUT is anything BUT celibate with a woman that I THOUGHT was just going to be a tomboyish, desexed adventuring companion. And worst off, they do their sinful business in a CHAPEL."

*headsplodes*

Granted, he's fond of Iris, and will probably be of Alastor, it's just that he doesn't exactly approve...
Ms Elaneous

Meh, the old codger will get over it. ^_^

Anyway, IRIS LOOKS GOOD! You're really getting better at her. I'm pleased.

Revenant's armour is suh-weet and dang.... Namesake is creeeeepy. No wonder Mneme is on edge with him around. Even with him being a plant. She'll get over it, too, though.
NecroPaladin

Updated.

Just in time for me to go to lunch in 5 minutes...

Wukei

*shakes a reprimanding finger at him* don't you know that final fantasy characters don't wear underwear....

It looks great ^.^
NecroPaladin

Updated.

Geomancer

Who is that?
Nevrmore

Geomancer wrote:
Who is that?

That'd be Ms. E's Iris in a new outfit.
Geomancer

Woah am I out of the loop. Bejeezus.
NecroPaladin

Since they're not big and eye-catching enough, when I update avis they'll go right into the avi box instead of as a front-page showcase.

I love drawing Nevr's characters. I really do. They're all so...icky. It's awesome!

EDIT:

Got one down for Fax Celestis, too.

NecroPaladin

Updated.
Darkblade

Did this vomiting Dexter event actually occur?
Geomancer

It is actually horseradish. Not Vomit.
Wukei

He's still vomitting it.
Geomancer

Thats... true...
J. Muller

Since when does horseradish have... feathers(?) in it?
NecroPaladin

Since I say it does. Updated.
Nevrmore

NecroPaladin wrote:

That's because of me. My character did that. Praise me!
NecroPaladin

BIG update.

Geomancer

I love your artwork. You don't draw enough of my characters though *pouts*
J. Muller

NecroPaladin wrote:

He's quite the powerful kisser.

NecroPaladin

Bah! Well, Wukei already made the joke that they have an attraction...
Gnrlshrimp

Wow...I never even bothered describing the Jury and the various different types but that's a fairly accurate drawing of those drones.

Amazing artwork as always!
Uberblah

I'm gonna stop looking at this thread because I'm envious. Ya know, I'm done with this forum. (except for the request thread, still need avvies)
NecroPaladin

Aww...but I like your input...

*extra-sadness*
Uberblah

No! Don't think you'll make me guilty and post here!

DAMMIT!!
Nevrmore

Whoa, Malleo and Phoenix are an item? I didn't know Surprised
NecroPaladin

Morbius, not Malleo. Malleo's a frigging lunatic.
Wukei

Loving the Phie and Morbius one goes without saying, but I absolutely adore the Malleo one ^.^
Nevrmore

NecroPaladin wrote:

I really do get those two confused a lot.
Wukei

Morbius doesn't have a mechanical arm, y'know...
Nevrmore

I don't mean I mix up the characters completely, just their names. I can't help it, mmkay?
Wukei

Ah, gotcha...yea, I tend to do that some, too.
NecroPaladin

I've got a lot of project work to do, so don't expect me to be very responsive this Fourth. That said, military day avis for:

Ms E:

GnrlShrimp:

Me:
Gnrlshrimp

Wow...uh...thanks!

I honestly didn't expect you to make a military avi for me, it's brilliant!
Geomancer

Hey! HEY!!!! Where is Czar? *Pouts and feels left out*
NecroPaladin

You don't use a Czar Avi.

I would have done Warpfire, the last guy who uses my avis, but I'm strapped for time and he's away anyway.
Geomancer

I would if I had a military version. *pouts again*
NecroPaladin

It'd be too late by the time I get around to it.

On a seperate note, I love my avi thiiiiiiiiiis much. He's so cwuuuuuuute!
Gnrlshrimp

To be completely honest I find your avi...not at all cute, more, slightly disturbing.

There's something suspicious about that little doll in that particular outfit...Dexter NEEDS YOU! To hand your powers over to him

Does anyone else consider that...very weird?
NecroPaladin

Gnrlshrimp wrote:

That just makes him represent the U.S. that much more.

I jest, I jest. He is a bit creepy.
Gnrlshrimp

That would be the biggest understatement I've heard in a looong time...Then again, weird talking puppety things are always creepy. Always...
Ms Elaneous

Dante and Ms E thank you kindly for your contribution to the greater awesome. That is all.[/iintercom]
NecroPaladin

Sorry to Sophistemon for the delay on Wekeemil, I've got a sketch so far...

As per Rebonack's request in PM, here are Revenant and Iris meeting Tabitha and Maph'tey. Maph'tey right now is hastily trying to explain how exactly he has a "son."

Wukei

At first...I thought Tabitha and Maphtey were naked...
NecroPaladin

Nope. They're surf-y bodysuits.
Wukei

I love seeing Revenant...he's got so much personality, even without eyes...
Rebonack

They were originally in those frumpy 1900's era bathing suits, but Tabitha thought they looked goofy and 'fixed' them to look like that.

And thanks Necro. We all loves your work!
NecroPaladin

Thanks, guys! Both for compliments on character and art...

New avi for myself.

Ms Elaneous

Suh-weet! Both of them.
J. Muller

I'm not criticizing anything here, but are Mapthey's legs supposed to be that long? They look almost disproportionate.
NecroPaladin

I went for a cartoonish look. Thus, he and Tabitha have really big limbs compared to their bodies.
Geomancer

A+ Art Necro.

Keep at it.
Nevrmore

Loving the art, Necro, but one small criticism: Unless they are supposed to look that way, you may want to work on feet. Maph'tey's and Tabitha's feet look...off.
NecroPaladin

Yeah, I'm no good at feet. I always draw 'em really cartoony.
Geomancer

Meh, who needs toes anyways?
The Chilli God

You aren't alone with despising the depiction of extremities, but at least you try. I simply gave up.

... Very Happy

KUTGW.
(Keep Up The Good Work)
Nevrmore

Geomancer wrote:

Technically, you really don't need any toes besides your big ones. Your big toes help you balance, the others don't do anything.

I'm pretty good at drawing feet, I absolutely suck at hands, though.
Wukei

But, I've seen people without the big ones...they learn to balance just fine.

And I have bunnies without toes or without nearly their whole foot. (They had it bit off when they were hairless blind babies...poor things...) They get around just fine.
Nevrmore

Missing big toes on both feet?

And, as I'm sure you're aware, bunnies and humans are drastically different. Rabbits half four limbs to walk on instead of two and can redistribute their weight accordingly.
Wukei

I'm pretty sure he was...but it's been a long time since I've seen the guy, so I'm not too sure on the details.
Nevrmore

*shrug* Maybe my information is wrong. The internet is a humorous place.
NecroPaladin

*wags finger* When did this become the official toe facts thread?
Nevrmore

I decided that, until you start drawing pictures of my characters again, I'm going to sabotage your thread! MWAHAHHAHAHASIUEFD8HFHDHFYH!!!
Shadow of the Sun

*walks up with a shillelagh and smashes Nevr in the back of the head*

So sorry 'bout that, Necro; I'll try to keep him at bay for you.
NecroPaladin

Updated.
Wukei

Hey, look. Morbius isn't wearing goggles!
NecroPaladin

Nope, he ain't.
J. Muller

I would definitely pay money for a fighting game with characters from the Town.
NecroPaladin

I've actually been brainstorming one. I'm thinking tag-team with unique combo moves, like Marvel Vs. Capcom.
Orange Zergling

Am I the only one who thinks it would benefit more from being over-the-top cartoon-y like Super Smash Bros.?
Wukei

yes
Warpfire

No.
NecroPaladin

Maybe so.
Vael

Who wants to bet that Aesa is one of the arcade game bosses with all the cheap combos and moves that you could never possibly pull off? Razz
NecroPaladin

Yeah, pretty much. Clergyman State would be the mini-boss that's like a clone of a normal character (Namesake) but better.
Uberblah

You're making a KNAVES game? SWEET!!
Nevrmore

Where does Crucius fit into this?
NecroPaladin

He'd be like a twisted version of Guilty Gear's Doctor Faustus.
Nevrmore

Oh Necro, you do know me!

Faust is my favorite character Very Happy
J. Muller

I suppose Morbius would be the type of character who's fast but weak, with some electricity and magnetism related special attacks.

Czar, most likely, would be the slow, lumbering powerful guy, with some special attacks centering around his shadow.

I think Orwell would be about middle of the line, average, with some ranged (guns) special attacks.

Malleo could be weak but a little fast, but with lots of quirky special attacks that stun/poison/paralyze the enemy.
NecroPaladin

Fiscal Mereor would do good damage, and have a long reach, but be a little slow. However, he'd also have armor. He'd have less special attacks than others to make up for his overall better stats, and they'd be cross-themed.

Revenant would switch strengths and weaknesses regularly as his weapons/moods switch off. His special attacks would depend on mood.

Conviction would have overall good armor and reach, not the best damage in the world nor the best speed, but a few really awesome special attacks. Think soul-stealing.

Man...we could go forever on this...
Nevrmore

Baron Law could be the Dan Hibiki of the game.

Crucius would have incredible reach due to his bardiche, good defense due to his morphine-jack, crap attack strength, but good special attacks (I'm thinking calling Onus in to pound the opponent or maybe quick-style torture).

Random would be the guy who has crappy defense and health but really good attack strength because of his robots and crap.
Geomancer

And where does Czar fit in? Czar's shadow?
Nevrmore

Geomancer wrote:
And where does Czar fit in? Czar's shadow?

You missed where we discussed Czar.
Geomancer

So what if I did? That hardly constitutes a discussion. I say the whole game should center around Czar. GAH! my ego just grew so big it took on physical form. Hold on a second while a slay it.
J. Muller

Mereor's special attacks... well, he's got the acid spray and the knockout dart. I'm thinking he'd have less armor, though, and more speed. Though the combination of speed and reach might make him a bit cheap... sort of like Raphael in Soul Caliber, where you can pretty much keep mashing the attack button and your opponent won't have time to recover.

Affadavit... maybe Affadavit just mind-controls an upgraded Jury? He's not one for direct fighting himself. But with a Jury... he'd have good armor and attack, but not much speed. And some ranged attacks from the diamond rifle.

I'm thinking Conviction might be more like Nightmare from SC--big, slow, good reach and attack. He's already got the "SOULS!" thing going, too.
Warpfire

J. Muller wrote:

That sounds about right, though he would have to be able to throw the spear. Also, probably summon a devil to attack someone for a special attack.
Destro Yersul

This is really funny actually. I created Destro on my friends copy of Mortal Kombat.

He'd probably have loads of ranged attacks and be really hard to kill.
Gnrlshrimp

Affidavit would be the character who you can't actually play in the game, he'd be the character that fills in for dialogue and explains whatever the plot is. He wouldn't ever get in a fight, and the jury are nowhere near as strong as some of the other characters...There's just no way for him to actually be a playable character.
