Don'tcha wish...

Don'tcha wish there were a way to pick the threads that you'll be visiting and place them in a little area together, and then toss the others into a folder by themselves?

I like to look at the bottom of the main screen to search for who's on, but I don't like to keep scrolling between all the forums. I know we don't have many, but I still have to scroll...

Just a thought on how I think boards (not Vael/Soph's just any) would be improved.
Darkblade

That would be cool but damn near impossible to program.
J. Muller

Hmm.

What about a bar that clings to the bottom of the browser window that displays who's on and other such information? That would be much easier to program.
Darkblade

Hmm maybe...~pulls up Java and starts tinkering in another window~
J. Muller

What are you going to do, code an entirely new board software system?
Darkblade

I have a basic board template I made in programing class already just seeing if I can do that. I'm not having much success yet.
Darkblade

Conclosion: This bar clinging to the browser is either impossible or far beyond my programing prowess.

That's a damn shame, that's what that is. Oh well. It was only a dream.

If I understand Wukei's idea, then it should be doable, if we had access to the code... which I understand that we don't.

But yes, I think it'd be nice to have it like that.
J. Muller

I've seen it done on web pages, but never on a forum. So perhaps it's just not compatible with the forum software.

As I read Wukei's idea, what she wants is just sort of like another forum where you only have the threads that you actually care about listed... so that you only have to look there and don't have to look through all the fora to find new posts in the threads you care about. A "Subscribed Threads" forum, I guess. That should be doable, although perhaps not trivial.

As for a bar that sticks to the browser window, there's probably a billion scripts out there, they just tend to work really poorly and annoy more than they help. IMO.
